London is extraordinary. It is also flat. Its highest point, Westerham Heights, stands at 245 metres. We exist to go higher: to trade lecture halls for ridgelines, one Saturday at a time.
A day on the trail

Route briefing from the trip lead, then we walk.

Lunch with a view. The group photograph.

Eight of the best walks within reach of London by train, from sea cliffs and chalk ridges to vineyards and Cotswold villages. Each is graded, so you always know what the day will ask of you.
Distances, walking times and trains are taken from published route guides (Saturday Walkers' Club and others) and rounded. Elevation profiles are indicative. Dates are proposals; final details are shared in the WhatsApp group before each hike.

Before you
lace up.
When is the first hike?
Saturday 10 October 2026: the Seven Sisters, from Seaford to Eastbourne along the chalk cliffs of East Sussex. Meeting point and train times go out in the WhatsApp group during the week before.
Do I need hiking experience?
No. Grade I and II hikes suit anyone who can walk for a few hours. The season builds gradually, so by the time we reach the mountains you will be ready for them.
Who can join?
Any student at ESCP's London campus, on any programme: Bachelor, MiM, MSc, MBA or exchange. Joining the WhatsApp group makes you a member.
What does it cost?
Membership is free. On day hikes you cover your own train ticket and food. Expeditions are split at cost, with the budget shared before you commit.
Is it only hiking?
No. There are socials, film nights, climbing sessions, networking hikes with alumni and professionals, and a few surprises along the way.
How do I join the committee?
Complete the committee application form. It takes about two minutes.
What happens if the weather turns?
Trip leads check the Met Office forecast, and the Mountain Weather Information Service for mountain days. If conditions are unsafe, we postpone or switch to a lower route.
How can I save on travel?
A 16-25 or 26-30 Railcard takes a third off most rail fares and pays for itself within two or three trips.
How do you keep people safe?
Every hike has a trip lead and a back marker, so nobody is left behind. We carry a first-aid kit, share the route in advance, and follow the Countryside Code.
